OnPage Priority Messaging is Now Less Dependent on RIM Push
OnPage is a company that combines the urgency of the pager with the richness and ease-of-use of the smartphone, all in one device. It provides a single device for all communication, and the company helps users make high priority messages rise above the clutter of e-mail and text messaging. It also offers repeated delivery until your device is operational.
Recently, the company unveiled the latest version of its secure priority messaging and pager app for Blackberry, increasing reliability for its customers. OnPage decided to create a redundant solution that would decrease downtime and outages for its customers in the future, after a couple of push failures at Blackberry RIM (RIMM) back in February and April of 2012.
Apart from Wi-Fi, OnPage works over cellular communication. Onpage is sure to work even in areas with poor cellular coverage with hospitals, secured law enforcement facilities, financial institutions, and entire cities covering themselves with wall-to-wall Wi-Fi, the company stated in a press release.
“RIM’s push services are generally very reliable,” says Judit Sharon, CEO and president of Onset (News - Alert)Technology. “However, we have to keep our customers’ best interest in mind as they rely on us to deliver their critical messages under any circumstances, including the rare occasion of an outage in the RIM Push. We explored a couple different ways of achieving message redundancy. However, being a HIPAA compliant service, the only viable option was to build a poller mechanism similar to our Android (News - Alert) client.”
Recently, the company announced that its popular, secure pager app for iPhone (News - Alert) and BlackBerry is now available for the Android platform. Android users who do not want to miss a single urgent message can now download OnPage from Google (News - Alert) Play, and sign up for service within a few minutes.
